Joan Collins was next door once

Going home today. Sorry to leave our B and B - The Devonian. Really liked this splendid house built in the 1880s.Originally called the Woodlands and renamed  by the present lovely owners. Interesting history from Gentleman’s summer residence to guest house. The road should be named renovation row as so many of these magnificent properties are being restored. Next door was at one time a convent school- the convent of the immaculate conception. Terence our host told us that Joan Collins and her sister were evacuated to the town in W W 2, and were at the school - the recently renovated building is the extra.
On the way home we went to Arlington Court
- a National Trust property.
