Paris bridge

Backblip 12/13

This is taken from our hotel window. This bridge goes over the train tracks that lead to Gare de l'Est. Our hotel is within walking distance of that station and Gare du Nord. At Nord, we got on the train to the airport to head home.

I accidentally bought the wrong ticket (I think for one zone instead of all the way to the airport; I still don't have the hang of the Paris metro system), so we couldn't go through the gates at the airport. A man used his plastic pass to let us through then shook us down for money. He spoke perfect English when helping but then switched to French when demanding money. I only had a few euros in coins, but Jill gave him 10 euros and we waited for him to leave so he couldn't harass us anymore.

The flight was uneventful. The food was good; we had ratatouille, a brownie, and I had two types of wine. We landed at Washington Dulles, took an Uber to Reagan airport and drove home.

Phew. What a vacation.
