Colours of spring
Bright spring flowers for flower Friday. I think the bergenia on the right is my favourite. It has beautiful leaves all year round then bursts into bloom in springtime. The purple drumstick primula always reminds me of our garden in Angus which had a lot of them back in the 1950s when I was at primary school. Everyone around there called them Kirrie dumplings, Kirrie being our local town of Kirriemuir (of J.M Barrie fame). Today I found an explanation for this here on the website of the Royal Botanics Garden Edinburgh.
