Hérisson (en chocolat)

I worked until mid-afternoon and J took his bike out in the bois. Then around 4pm we went to see the Thomas Demand exhibition at the Jeu de Paume. Demand, a German artist b. 1964, recreates recognizable and very realistic scenes out of paper and then photographs them, creating scenes that question truth and memory yet are playful and visually intriguing. (See extra for an example, Demand's "Poll" from 2017, representing the Florida recount in the 2000 American presidential election, between Gore and Bush). 

Afterwards we walked through the Tuileries to the left bank where we bought some easter chocolate, and this little (expensive!) hedgehog caught our eye. We managed to get a table for dinner at one of our favourite restaurants and had our easter meal a bit early - a very nice evening.
