Peek-a-boo

Talking on the phone and looking out of our front window I noticed a lot of bee activity at the front of our front lawn. Investigating it seems we have a mining bee “lek” going on - it seems that’s it’s not only grouse who “lek” - and nests. And plenty of quick moving bees.

It was whilst focussing on the ground that I heard goldfinches in our neighbours cherry tree. So I attempted a photograph. Not entirely successful ! But it captures the emerging flowers, still to open, and the very clear blue sky we have had all day. And of course a goldfinch playing hard to get.,
