Bedtime!

This is the bedroom of the last owner of Wimpole Estate.  Mrs Elsie Bambridge was the daughter of Rudyard Kipling.  She inherited all his wealth as her brother had died in WW1 and her sister when she was a young girl.  After her husband died in 1943 she continued to improve Wimpole Hall and bequeathed it to National Trust in 1976.

I spent a very busy day volunteering today.  At 11.00am the huge car park was packed and we had to queue..1 out, 1 in!  Many volunteers were very late for their shifts.  So many people came into the house.  But it was great fun.
