Supersonic Swallow

Wow. these things can move!

Had to go to 2500th of a second to get this sharp. Sadly the ISO is also 2500 and they are cropped to about an 8th of the full frame so the edge has been taken off the image.

Keeping focus was a challenge, even with the 5D MKIII's faster focusing capability, they were very small in the frame and unbelievably quick, not to mention random in there flight path. After several ideas I found the best way for me was to keep my left eye open and track with both eyes, somehow this seemed to work.
