It takes about an hour of walking to reach this spot from my home.
The start-point of the 4-mile circular walk is about 20 minutes walk from my flat, so this is about 40 minutes in to the circuit. The path was fantastically muddy today, but a group of about 20 of us got all the way around without mishap. As we approached the home straight we faced a group of 68 who had travelled by train from London. We welcomed them, warned them it was muddy and wished them well.
I remember my dad showing me how to soften butter by pulverising it.
I dread to think how mushy that path was by the time it had been trampled by so many extra feet.
