Southern Cross Sculpture
Like most people, I tend to look down at the Tasman Map set into the vestibule’s tessellated floor, not up at the Southern Cross sculpture. Apparently it’s modelled on the earliest printed description of the constellation in Lettera Di Andrea Corsali, Florence, 1515. One of the stars is darkened.
Extra: another celestial image.
