Not the best place for a nest...

Some robins have built a nest in a climbing plant in our garden.  We had noticed a bird fly away a few times when we were in the area but just though it was looking for food.  We were surprised to find a nest with eggs when I looked into the space it came from. 
 
This is not good as we have two cats and others do wander through the garden.  We have put a wire hanging basket frame over it, held in place with cable ties.  Hopefully this will give some protection.  We checked after putting the cage in place and the bird did go back. We will also try and reduce the amount the cats go out. 
 
The scaffolding was taken down first thing and we then did house bits during the day and drinks with a neighbour in the evening.
