Colour Bias
Had a eureka moment when discovering Michael Wilcox's theory on colour. He explains that colours reflect more than one hue, if you know the bias of the colour (ie Cadmium Red is an orange-red / Ultramarine Blue is a violet-blue) then your choice of colours for mixing any hue should be spot on.
Instead of 3 primaries these colour wheels show 6 - this is to address the colour bias found in what we (I) assumed were pure primary colours.
