View from my Window
I leant out of the bedroom window to take this blip of the hawthorn, or May Tree, which is looking so wonderful just now. We had just had a heavy shower, and then the evening sun came out.
The common hawthorn, or Crataegus Monogyna, is one of my favourites, and I missed it during my time in Australia. It sows itself all over the place, and sometimes I dig up the tiny trees, grow them on a bit, and plant a few of them out in suitable parts of the garden. They grow quite slowly, but can be controlled!
This one is very tall, and exists happily among beech, viburnum, weigela and wild rose! A bit chaotic, but the birds love it!
