Nettle

… and wild garlic soup

I togged up in all my waterproofs and headed down to the river to get nettles and wild garlic. I’ve been finding that wild garlic occurs much more patchily round here. There were a few fly fishermen out in the river and then, when I got to the footbridge at Skygarth there was a chap in his wellingtons shifting stones around on a stony bank of the riverbed (extra). Looked like a baffling and rather suspiciously Sisyphean task.
Back home I set to work on removing all the stinging hairs from the nettles in preparation of the soup.
