Starting early...

J decided to begin planting tomato seeds earlier this year as several plants  still had green tomatoes towards the end of the season last year.  They didn't go to waste as I made chutney with them.  He thought beginning early and staggering the planting would give a longer produce season.  A friend who has an allotment is a bit doubtful. We'll need to wait and see how that turns out
