Moschatel

Adoxa moschatellina, moschatel or Town Hall Clock. It’s very unusual in that it has four flowers facing out around the stem like the clocks on a tower, and a further flower facing up from the top!
We discovered it down our lane many years ago, and transferred a small piece under our hedge. It has gradually established and we now have a nice little patch. Hedges are so vulnerable to damage from passing farmers that we thought a réservée clump would be a good thing.
It is an under recorded wildflower as its tiny green blooms are hard to spot, and within a few weeks it will have disappeared under the dog’s mercury.
So do have a look, under hedges and on woodland edges.
