Cat of last resort
When there's no time to do anything creative and it's about to pour with rain, it's always good to have a cat. This is Casper, looking deceptively cute and fluffy.
This morning I supported J with her online Art Talk, looking at blue artworks with some nice though mostly predictable choices; then over lunch we joined a National Gallery online talk by the curator of the current After Impressionism exhibition, which I found interesting though it was a bit too packed with rapid-paced information for J (or the subtitles) to keep up. We won't be going, sadly - we're still avoiding indoor spaces and crowds, and it's also very expensive, though I realise the costs of acquiring, transporting and insuring an exhibition like this must be phenomenal. It was interesting to hear that about a third of the works are from private collections - I'm always pleased to discover things I would not normally have the opportunity to see - though there are also many familiar ones from major collections we have visited. It was good to have the opportunity to find out more about it via Zoom.
