The upper Waitemata
An odd day at work. It was meant to be a full day, and in the last two or three days three people called to cancel; respiratory infections. Time of the year. I'm very pleased that they did cancel, as I'm nearly over the lurgi which started a week ago, and I would so much dislike getting another, especially as tomorrow afternoon we are catching a flight to Sydney.
Preconference workshop on Sunday (Cultivating Psychiatric Virtues, led by John Sadler). Then three and a half days of conference. I'll achieve half my minimum CPD points for the year in one meeting. And we'll get to stay with son and his family after the conference. I hope to catch up with some of the friends I haven't seen in a while.
Anyway, this was (almost) the view from the deck about an hour before sunset, when we came home from the office. I went to the study to get the camera; by the time I had returned, and got the focus right, the silver blaze across the water had retreated to just a hint over by Hobsonville. The end result is that the apricot sky predominates. Worth looking at large.
The best picture I got all day; no run again as I am continuing to rest the calf, which is responding to massage (with Antiflamme) and no running.
Did some preparatory shopping for Sydney; books for grandchildren and a warm coat for me. The Blue Mountains will be significantly colder than Auckland.
