O Pedrouzo to Santiago!
264km later... Santiago!
Yes, we did make it and yes, we walked the whole way! Even though the last day was quite an effort (my ankle was worse and Em's feet were in poor shape) we got there in time to enjoy the afternoon sun, promptly collapsing to the ground of the Praza do Obradoiro and just looking up - handily, cathedrals are made for that.
This wasn't the end of the walking for all of us; Owen, Stef and Mark would head off to the coast the next day while the walking wounded stayed in Santiago before catching up by coach. But for the moment, wandering into that square, turning and looking up and seeing the cathedral - definitely worth all the aches and pains.
The rest of the day was spent wandering around the cathedral, exploring Santiago (for dinner!) and meeting fellow pilgrims from the road to catch up on everyone's experiences. In the evening Mark and myself also went on a pilgrim pub crawl (see the outtakes for a group shot!) and had an awesome time, even kind-of-gatecrashing a local's birthday - but they were happy to see us!
All in all it was a day for happy and fulfilling memories - a very big adventure was drawing to a close.
