Is This Door Currently Closed?

It is.

You could walk right up to it
but it won't open automatically for you.

You could bang on it,
really make it rattle,
but no one will answer it.

If it's a glass one
you could peer through
but the shadowy figures
who walk the floors behind closed doors
will ignore you.

In despair
you could bash your head against it
but that would be like
smashing your head against a brick wall.

But don't give up.
There is hope.

The door is only 'currently' closed
and walls, so they say,
even arrogant ones,
have ears.
