Arrived
I've had a lot of things to do recently & photography has been put on the back burner - though I did clean the sensor of my Z50 for the first time ever a couple of days ago; a major step forwards!
This is being posted a day late - yesterday was the drive down to Folkestone, the whizz through pet check-in & customs, then the wait for the 14:20 which finally left at 15:05. Anyway, we're here, having stopped for the night at the walled town of Bergues. Went for a short but windy walk around the town & the ramparts but only took one photo, in the public gardens. The towers - Square & Peaked - are all that remains, apart from the gateway which was behind me, of the Abbey of St Winoc, which was destroyed during the revolution.
As we walked the clouds gathered & the April showers started - & with that wind the most sensible course of action was to cut across town back to the van, after carefully wrapping the camera in one of the black plastic bags I always carry (as a responsible dog owner!)
