"Awakening"

Newly emerging bracken frond.
Last week I hadn't noticed any bracken on the Common. However today I saw some stems already up to 25cms tall. The photo shows a new one having just pushed through the soil surface. Thought it looked a little like a snake. But I'm often the only one that can see obscure objects!!
