Walk in the country

After morning dog walk and breakfast thought I'd head into town to get new watch strap attached.  Had to hold back on receipt of text message informing Kyro's new bed's arrival was between 10.15-11.15.

Bed arrived shortly after 10.15.  Replaced the old bed with the new.   Kyro who constantly scrabbled to remove old bed which prompted ordering the new then turned nose up at new and sat on the old bed.   I knew it will take time.

Dropped watch and new strap at Timpson to collect in 30 minutes.  Bought some items from the market and cycled to Arjuna our wholefood organic shop and picked up some items there.  Watch was ready by the time I returned to the marketplace.

After lunch we went to Coton. We walked through the recreation ground onto a meadow until we reached the enclosed dog park.  I walked Kyro round on the lead while four other dogs were there.  OH thought I should let him off but I didn't want to risk it.

Kyro is fine on the lead with dogs he knows and has only encountered two others at a time.  Given that his recall in an open space is not good yet, I didn't fancy a law suit on grounds of an uncontrollable dog.

I let him off the lead when we had the park to ourselves.  He began running round the edge but then began running to us for which he received a treat and Good Boy praise.  We had about ten minutes before another group of dogs and humans came along.  He was welcoming - on the lead.

We left and encountered the dog group who'd been in the dog park before us.  Kyro greeted but then ignored them.

He was quiet in the car on the journey home. Back hom, after recuperative biscuits lay exhausted on his new bed.

Rewarding day:
- watch sorted, no more checking empty wrist for the time
- hound accepts new bed
- steps to hound recall looking promising

Pleasant afternoon and evening everyone.
