Follow the sun.
Two railroad lines run through Southeast Iowa, these run through Fairfield (my hometown) and Mt. Pleasant owned by Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway (BNSF).

Courtney Wallace, BNSF spokesperson, said that about 20-25 trains a day run its lines in Southeast Iowa, which includes a line that runs through Fort Madison in Lee County.

When we were working on.Fairfield being a Quiestzone the local newspaper reported that there could be as many as 40 per day. Also reported that the crossing arms and lights are experiencing many failures to notify-yikes!
