Sundowner
It felt well deserved.
Mystère was feeling much better this morning. He voluntarily left the bedroom and came and sat in the sun lounge, albeit staring somewhat anxiously out of the window looking for potential evil beings. He even hopefully queued up at the window we normally leave open for him to come in and out. That was a hard nope.
It was such a lovely day that we had lunch outside, leaving Mystère with the run of the house. This turned out to be a mistake -- when S went back in with the plates a small dark shadow shot between his legs and out onto the terrace. I thought the wall at the end, with the steep drop on the other side, would slow him down, giving me time to catch him, but no -- he was over it and into the orchard like an Olympic hurdler.
Cue 15 minutes of us cautiously stalking him. In the end, to our surprise, he simply let S approach and pick him up from his hiding place under the eaves of one of the sheds in the orchard. I got the impression he was actually rather grateful to be rescued from the dangerous outside world.
I'd intended to take him to the vet after lunch, since she had told me to bring him back on Thursday or Friday. We abandoned that plan and he went back into the bedroom with a reward of the vet's expensive food. He's been curled up on the bed ever since, apparently exhausted by the excitement.
As were we to a certain extent. But we went into town at about six, mainly to buy more fancy cat food (20% cheaper at the pet shop) and took advantage of the lovely afternoon to sit outside Seiva on the square for a glass of wine. Then hungry shopping at Lidl and a further apero at home. And a lazy sunset blip!
Edit: Oh! And the tweezer method of administering the pill worked perfectly today! We've cracked it :)
