A legendary no nonsense pub which would appear to have succumbed to the scourge of gentrification. Just look at the distressed paint "make over."
A long time ago I worked with the daughter of the long time proprietor who ran the place with a rod of iron and a present day work colleague tells great stories of the place back in the day when it was a safe haven for the gay community, drug addicts, prostitutes, drunks, dossers and Russian sailors. My type of place!
