Vacation
Today we drove north to walk around Oysterville a small town that prospered in the mid 1800s with a competitive oyster trade. Today the entire village is on the national historic register. A local resident who lives on the street stopped his car, left it running with dog inside to chat with us for a long time and give maple treats from his pocket. A real character and long time resident, he said when the beautiful people moved in they complained he didn’t mow his grass. There’s a historic church, schoolhouse and darling cottages…his house is the pink one . Without the garden, Lots of daffs all over. Picket fences. Huge cypress trees.
Some of us walked the beach twice…the weather is fine… we got lunch at the bakery, had a nap and a fine dinner watching the sunset. (H and I had oysters :-))
All that is in the extra. Had to blip the family game we played before dinner as it made me laugh! And these days are about the 5 of us together… the perfect combo of all our family for this little vacation spot……no one can get moving in the morning, all have their nose in a book and there’s not too much chat. ( Tatum is the only other that would fit in well) The new game is Forbidden Island . Has possibilities. H was feeding peanuts to Maple but she is not happy with this presentation on a game treasure piece.
