Busy day today at West Virginia AWWA. It is being held at a weird gated community/golf resort called Glade Springs. It it a huge open country park style place with peoples massive houses along the country roads and the golf resort on it. I went to the pool for a swim but it was 2 miles from my hotel room/ cottage thing. As it is all private all the roads are quiet. The place is lovely, full of deer and nice horses in paddocks. It just feels very odd that you are locking the rest of the world out. Gated communities are common in the USA and I don't like them at all. Doing this kind of things is dividing society by class and money (an old English thing that the Americans have taken on). It encourages this idea that poor people are to be scared of and are some how lower than rich people, when in fact it is the other way round. It is rich people that commit more of the successful crimes and murders in the world. When you are in these communities they feel nice, but artificial. A sanitized version of the world where poor people are either staff or "disappeared" in a Hitlers Germany style.
