Eirgrid, the national body responsible for the country's electricity grid, has announced plans for upgrading cables connecting various pairs of transformer station in the city. I'll be affected by one of these. A booklet explaining the project and giving details of a consultation process was delivered to every household. Each consultation is aimed at deciding which of three different routes residents and businesses prefer.

Once routes are decided and work commences, we're told that the entire project will take until 2029 to complete! NIMBY, I say.
