Flower Friday 14_2023 jasmine

Received this pot of jasmine bursting with flowers both pink and white. I made a cake for Viv whose 80th birthday is today. It was a chocolate cake, quite dense, with a filling of blackcurrant jam topped with a mixture of marscapone and crème fraiche with a touch of sugar and some vanilla essence! For the topping I added some grated chocolate to the mixture and put some dried cherries in the shape of 80 with a smile! I am absolutely sure that Viv would have made it more like a face as she does not look her age at all.

Having handed over the cake I went to town and in the spur of the moment decided to book to go to the theatre to see David Attenborough’s animals! It was genius! There were two people one of whom played David Attenborough with a great imitation of the voice and the other played a panoply of animals that Attenborough had introduced in his televion programmes including a whale, birds, orangutan, Komodo dragon, meerkat! It was extraordinary and wonderful and even better the audience was predominantly children who were loving it!
