Backyard tourist
Took my dad and the little one to Matlock Bath it was a rainy day but the two activities I had in mind would keep us indoors.
First we headed to the aquarium which has a petrifying well and the thermal spa pool has been turned into a koi pond. They also have a little bit on the history and a holographic picture gallery that was pretty cool. It's a nice way to spend an hour.
After brunch we then headed to the mining museum and booked onto the mine tour. Wow the mining museum is awesome and the ticket is annual entry (handy when it's only around a half an hour drive). In the museum they have created some mine shafts and tunnels that children can climb through and yes adults fit as well.
The first one a couple of girls helped him, that was a straight up shaft but the next one despite bumping into the same girls he was too scared but desperately wanted to do it so yep in I went. Not exactly a disabled friendly activity, luckily I already had my knees tapped together.
The mine was really interesting it was a guided tour and then afterwards we got to do some panning for gold (well fools gold) but there really is gold on the Derbyshire Dales but would destroy the area to get it.
