Coot's nest

This morning I went into town to do some food shopping then this afternoon went out for a walk around the village.

On the castle moat, the coots are always  the first and last to nest.  This one has been sitting on the nest for some time so I will be keeping an eye on the nest in the hope of chicks.  I didn't disturb it, I used a long lens.
