I love the shape of this tree.

My husband and I take a side route to work through a sub and this tree catches my eye all the time. It has such a perfectly sculptured shape; is incredibly stately looking and has a convoluted trunk with red wood. If I were in California, I might think it is a red wood tree, however I don't think they grow in Michigan. Any botanists out there who can identify this tree?
