Flower power

Three days ago Normous swept the drive because it was covered with beech leaf husks. They were everywhere and trod all over the house. Now the drive is covered again, this time with beech flowers! Just like everything else this year, the beech tree has flowered profusely. In the autumn there will be a mass of beech nuts to sweep up. Poor Normous. Luckily the huge tree is in a neighbour's garden otherwise he might be tempted to cut it down!

Miserable day today. Heavy rain and dark skies, and we had to go to a funeral.
