Out east
The sun was back today and I did some washing but the machine is making a funny noise. Add to the list. I did some Apex stuff and recalculated utilities usage.
Then time to go to the Manor and collect Mum. Dropped off a bag to #2 and said goodbye but no sign of a trowel.
We had a tasty and very economical, lunch in Port Seton though it would have been better if the football had not been on. Stopped by the harbour on the way back. The tide was out.
Then the purpose of the day, jag 6. The disabled parking was badly signed so it was a bit of a walk to get from the car park to the entrance then a long walk inside. You'd think they'd choose a very accessible venue when they are targeting 75+? However, we were out before we needed to be in.
Once home I did very little other than get fully immersed in Ancestry, uploading tree details. Don't know why? In the background on the TV was BBC2's music night. This week Carol King.
But I did find out some new info. My grandmother in law had 12 children to 3 men. 4 children never made it to adulthood but she still went to Canada leaving 4 girls, the youngest of whom was 10 and 3 boys (husband #2) aged 6, 2 and 7 months (he died 2 months after she left) and I don't she ever had contact with the boys again. She did keep in touch with the daughters who were left with her parents. And the other info was the man she may or may not have married went to Canada in 1920, came back in 1922, went back in 1925, along with the woman who married his brother, and of course came back finally with partner and twins in 1932. Clearly couldn't make up his mind! But I do know both the boys left in Belfast married and at least one has family in the south of England. Families are fascinating.
