Having only had the kids' aluminium bikes on this rack before I was nervous about using it for mine, though not quite as much as I would have been with the rear rack, which would be in constant sight in the mirror. Despite the weight it seemed to make it as far as Gateshead without complaint, though it's clearly not designed to be used with a bike with a front mudguard, nor for the key which locks the clamp to be attached to a big bunch of keys.
