Adelaide
Not quite the view I was expecting - flying into Adelaide. Rain - what else!
Summing up the trip: Highlights in London were: a day trip to Windsor (it wasn't raining); British Museum; V & A; and the National Gallery. Low-lights - the weather, and endless rail strikes.
Highlights in the rest of the UK were: Seeing our friends - blip meets with UniqueandLovely; JackyT, and of course the delightful BikerBear. Brighton Pavilion, St. Michael's Mount/Lands End; Heligan; seeing, for the first time in 40 years, the 103 year old mother of my school friend. She remembered me so clearly - it was a great visit. Padstow was a real treat, and so was lunch at Rick Stein's restaurant. A visit to the Lobster Research Project was very interesting, thanks to JackyT.
Disappointments - possibly the Eden Project it just seemed a bit "off" to me, and I can't quite put my finger on why.
Venice - what's not to like - sunny, cool days, and every single day was a voyage of discovery - and the food was simply amazing.
The travel experience was horrible on the way home - every single flight was delayed for one reason or another; and Frankfurt airport was simply horrendous.
Anyway, after all that, we are glad to be home and to sleep in our own bed. And there is one thing I simply have to say - Australian showers are the best in the whole world.
