The Big Dapple

These are some steps up into London Road Gardens, just over the road from my office. It's been a beautiful day, bright and sunny. The trees all suddenly seemed to leaf up a few weeks ago and everywhere becomes verdant and lush almost overnight. My friends left for Sydney this afternoon - it's unsettled me a bit, thinking that they have established a new life on the other side of the world. But we made a similar journey when we moved to Scotland nearly 20 years ago from London. Perhaps new horizons will beckon for us soon, it's beginning to feel like time for a change...Meanwhile Edinburgh looks it's best in it's new summer leafy version - long may it....
