Strong sunlight on a rug
I blethered to my daughter on the phone today about her promising book subscription project; her granddad; the limited edition book I’ve bought for a friend; the plumber who had come to fix her shower; her holiday in Amsterdam; her impressions of Dutch people; Scottish vocabulory and the class system; my new young neighbours; the poor dental health of Robyn her cat; and the cunning of starlings.
Scots word of the day. Quine: a girl, a lass. Derived from quean. From north east Scotland.
