Camargue

A trip to the Camargue area today.
The area is very flat, and grows crops including Rice, we saw a few Camargue Horses and Bulls on the way to the coast, a town called Saint-Marie's De-la Mer
We embarked on a trip up the river on a paddle boat, unfortunately the wind was blowing strongly and the rain had made the river Rhone very muddy and swift.
The trip included seeing a small display of horses and cattle being herded by "a Gardian" herdsman.
Flamingos flock to the area in their thousands but it is a bit early for then and only a few were wading in the shallows.
The town was full of Gypsies, apparently it was a kind of a carnival event over several days, there was a lot of music being played in the streets and food and wine being consumed.
