St Lucia
Went to bed last night In Barbados and woke up in St Lucia, I like this cruising lark!
The flight passed quickly., slight delay before we boarded but it didn’t worry us too much and we landed a scant 30 minutes later than planned. Off the plane onto a coach and we were whisked off to the port. It looked quite chaotic but was well organised and only took a few minutes to have our documents checked and we boarded.
Headed to the theatre to watch the muster drill before collecting our cruise cards and going to the cabin. Dumped our carry on bags and wandered about to get our bearings.
A rather nice glass of Prosecco before trying to book an alternative excursion as the planned chocolate making class was cancelled due to lack of numbers.
Headed for an early dinner in the Italian restaurant where we chatted to a lovely couple at the next table.
After dinner the cabin beckoned and luckily our luggage was waiting fir us so a quick unpacking session and a shower and I hit my bed.
Didn’t sleep the best but enough and up and in the restaurant for breakfast and on the coach in good time for our last minute booking to tour the island. We honeymooned on St Lucia almost 30 years ago but due to the mountainous landscape the roads haven’t improved much so a 15 mile journey took more than an hour.
We saw Lors of beautiful bays, the twin Piton’s (thankfully extinct) and die t time at the sulphur fields above Soufriere before a creole lunch at an old sugar plantation.
Managed to connect to Wi-Fi at the port as I really wanted to sync my FitBit so I wasn’t 5 hours too fast but didn’t manage to blip so back blipping this on Tuesday.
Thanks to MaryElizaR for hosting MonoMonday. I asked our tour guide Petra if I could take her photo so she’s my blip today.
