When In Rome
I wish! Unfortunately, the nearest I could get was capturing these cans of wine (I hasten to add I didn't drink them all at the same time!) with the same name standing on a garden chair, to get some height for the right depth of field, in the pouring rain. You can even see the ripples in the water from some of the raindrops. I'm not really sure why I thought this was a good idea!
I really like the design but when I initially saw them my first thought on catching sight of the word Pecorino (a cheese made from sheep's milk) on the front was that cheese wine might be a tad on the niche side! :-) It's actually described as a fresh crisp white with balanced acidity and aromas of pear and sage. I must admit I'm pretty new to the concept of wine in cans - it took me long enough to get used to wine in screw top bottles instead of with corks.
The wine is from Abruzzo - an Italian region to the east of Rome which has an Adriatic coastline and the Apennine Mountains and it is where the Pecorino grapes that the wine is produced from have been growing for millennia - and the lucky sheep ('pecora' in Italian) in the area used to nibble the grapes, hence the name.
