Castle walls
The ensuite bathroom is all but done - just some electrics to be finished - and the main bathroom is getting close - bath, toilet and shower are installed, just the vanitory unit to be fitted and the walls to be finished. Today we had to go and choose the granite worktop for the vanitory unit. It was something of an eye-opener. We drove down to the relevant factory, on the back of an industrial estate, to be taken to an area with dozens and dozens of granite off-cuts - since we need only a small piece it works out much cheaper to choose an off-cut. I had remembered to take a wall and a floor tile for comparison but it was still bewildering to walk around and try and figure out what would look best. In the end I chose a plain white stone. Black would have been stylish but the room faces north and it would have made it very dark.
This evening we restarted our creative writing group Zoom meetings. It was nice to be back together after a few weeks holiday and listen to some new pieces that folks had written over the break.
On the way back from our factory visit we stopped at the Farnham Park car park so that I could get a photograph of the Farnham Castle Keep. However, I was more attracted to the pretty buttercups that were growing in the meadow. I have included the rather uninspiring photograph of the Keep in the extras.
