Cake!!
Mum's Birthday Extravaganza continued!
Claire and Andy treated us all to hot dogs at Huxley's (they are actually quite exceptional dogs!) and the most amazing chocolate cake from Patisserie Valerie. Which after being stuffed full of dogs and fries none of us thought we had room for....then found plenty of space! So delicious.
Everyone wandered off in different directions after lunch and I went home for a much needed nap. Can't take the pace!
Later on we congregated back at Claire's for soup and sandwiches, Eurovision slagging and board games.
Dad and I thought we'd give everyone else a chance by not pairing up this time (we always win, I'm not boasting it's a fact. He's well old and has history and general knowledge, I have pop culture and books. Unbeatable.) however when the names came out of a hat we were put together anyway. Obviously meant to be! We were leagues ahead the whole way through before my brother (who had been sulking in a corner up until this point because he was last - well actually Mum and Andy were last but it's Mum's birthday so we'll let that one lie...) came in at the last minute and got the final question. Aparently all the points you've accumulated until then mean nothing and he declared himself and Sarah the winners!
But really, dad and I were the champions. So there. What? We won the whole way through! What kind of stupid game is it when you disregard all that and it's completely decided on one last question?
Yeah, family game time always gets a bit heated...
