Life-changers On Board
I saw these vans parked up at a my local supermarket today when I went out for a small food shop.
The Guide Dogs started in 1931 with two amazing British pioneers called Muriel Cooke and Rosamund Bond. These remarkable women organised the training of the first four British guide dogs from a humble lock-up garage in Wallasey, Merseyside.
The organisation has come a very long way since those unprepossessing beginnings. Today Guide Dogs is the world's largest breeder and trainer of working dogs and through their dedicated staff, along with the help of volunteers and public donations, 36,000 lives have been transformed through a guide dog partnership since 1931. As the slogan on the side of the vans state "Life-changers On Board". What incredible work they do.
