DAY 4 - BUDAPEST

Our last day on the tour bus…so we visited
#The Great Synagogue…it was massive (the largest in Europe) and magnificent.
#This weeping willow tree has the victim’s names inscribed on the leaves.
#The lads in their paper skull caps..aw
We had a very interesting tour guide who spoke with passion about the past. It was a ghetto in the war and thousands died or were transported. There are quite a few graves of unidentified victims. All very tragic.
We heard about Raoul Wallenberg
and Sir Nicholas Winton. What brave men. I tried to put on a link but worth a google!!
#we then went to a fascinating Jewish indoor farmers market which was set in war torn small terraced houses full of “stuff”and plants. We stopped for lunch!!
The Rev and I went to the thermal pools (but I’ll record that adventure tomorrow)
##### In the evening we were back on the Danube for a “romantic” dinner cruise …all 4 of us.
The food was fabulous…chef O was impressed. We had left in the sunshine but docked at sunset.
Wonderful day…now to pack :(((5/60
