A time for everything

A good birding bike ride.

Wednesday
A similar day to yesterday, a cool start, but warming up even more today. Roger was out for his monthly lunch with some of his ex colleagues, but once he was back, it was a perfect afternoon for a bike ride. Today we started from Avoca trailhead, south of Milford, and continued south, crossing the new connector I blipped last November, and continuing on to the loop around Otto Armledder Park, and then back - about 14 miles. Before we reached Otto Armledder, the trail passes a Turf farm, central picture, which was quite busy with various vehicles today, and it was along this stretch that I spotted the Killdeer, well camouflaged against the ploughed earth. It was a good birding ride, not just the Red-tailed hawk and Killdeer shown in my collage, but also “mechanical birds” flying into nearby Lunken airport! I spotted the red-tailed hawk first up in a tree, but then he suddenly flew down among the grasses, and apparently caught something, either a mouse or maybe a mole.
