My late gran's farm house has now finally been sold, after lying empty for a good 2 years. Some rich man has bought it and is planning to spend about 1.5 million euros on it to return it to its old/new grandeur. My gran lived here almost all her life, my mum was born here, and us grandchildren have so many happy countryside memories of this place, they are too many to count. It breaks my heart that this house, built around 1900 by my great-grandmother, no longer belongs to our family, but it is comforting to know that it's not just going to fall into ruin.

You should see the inside - all the floors have been ripped out, several walls as well and Sam was especially excited to see a small digger entering the hall....
