Lily Beetle

I do have lilies. I have them in a pot. I do not look after them, nor do I refresh or feed the soil. And yet they come up year after year with an amazing display of foliage and flowers. However these rather attractive little beasts are capable of speedily destroying them. They devour the leaves leaving nothing more than a few sad stems. For preservation, they have a clever skill of hearing you coming and dropping off the leaves to hide. I have become good at creeping up on them and disposing of them quickly.

However this one is nowhere near the lilies, it is on the snakes head fritillary. I let him be for now.
