Flower Power

Our penultimate day in Munich and it's been full of flowers.

In the morning we visited the Flowers Forever exhibition in the Kunsthalle. It wasn't quite what I expected but it was really super. I could post loads of images. I've chosen four.

Main blip: daughter#2 making things happen in the interactive section
First extra: you go all this way and find a Rossetti, on loan from Bournemouth (there was also a Burne-Jones tapestry)
Second extra: Pyongyang V, a scene from the Arirang Festival in North Korea, flowers paying a central role in the highly symbolic iconography. A large format photo by Andreas Gursky. An amazing photo.
Third Extra: Calyx, an installation by Rebecca Louise Law, over 100,000 flowers dried and wired together.

In the afternoon we visited the Botanischer Garten. We saw a turtle and a red squirrel as well as loads of flowers, plants and trees. Again so many photos I was pleased with, just one selected as an extra.

Did I mention it has been  a very sunny 23ºC here today?

The one disappointment was that there was no longer currywurst on the menu at the local beer garden we visited this evening. We will try to find this in another beer garden after church tomorrow, before we head off to the airport.
