It's On
The window of opportunity for planning a barbecue in Scotland is always very narrow. It normally means looking for a gap in the clouds upwind and planning all outdoor activity for when that arrives. When that coincides with a Saturday that's also a Bank Holiday Weekend (for some) then it's a full on military grade operation. Today is that day.
Shorts are on exposing a winter's worth of blueish leg, grass was cut to an Isley Brother's soundtrack of, cobwebs have been dusted off the hosed down garden furniture (Euan won't sit on it if there's the merest chance an arachnid might be nearby eyeing up his burger), beers fridged, brickettes sourced, ice cube production is in full flow and the butchers shelves have been emptied of anything that can be charred to a black crust but somehow left worryingly pink inside.
This was the very cosmopolitan scene going on down at the local village retail park as we were sent off to source meat this morning, a nice companion shot to the one taken this weekend last year and of the barber shop next door the year before that.
Brings out the best in everyone the sun does. Have a nice chilled Saturday all you blippers. Cheers!
